Specialized welding is how Tasweld engineering started and over the years, our experience has grown. Welding is still the cornerstone of our business, as almost all our repair work requires welding at some stage. This includes cast iron repairs, TIG and MIG welding of aluminium castings and fabrications; steel profile cutting and heavy fabrication; arc gouging and MIG welding in bronze, stainless steel, cast iron, high tensile and hard facing wires.
Cast iron automotive and truck manifolds can be permanently repaired using high temperature nickel spray since the elastic properties of the spray allow some movement during service which reduces the likelihood of cracking.
All manifolds are faced after repair to ensure perfect flatness. The photo above shows both 'before' and 'after' merged into one image.
All types of aluminium, zinc diecast and magnesium castings can be successfully welded and re-machined to original specifications.
Large shafts and bearing areas can be built up and reclaimed with welded overlays of many materials including bronze, stainless steel and hard facing prior to remachining to a finished size.
